Eve Online, Getting Retribution

Eve Online, Getting Retribution

Hi there, (o/) my name is Julian Edwards and I am a capsuleer. For those of you don’t know, that is the term for player characters in Eve Online. So, on the 4th of December Eve Online gained its 18th free expansion, entitled Retribution. Now I know you’re looking at that and thinking “wasn’t that a while back, Julian?” and yes, it was, but a quick look at the changelog for the expansion and you can see why it took me a while to find out about some things. Now I have a lot of information that has been gathered by myself and my alliance in game [Zionist Empyrean Nation] and I’m going to break it down into 4 sections.

They are as follows;

  • What is Eve Online
  • the winter expansion Retribution
  • the festive season in New Eden
  • Oh My Goodness! BUNNIES! (this will be explained)

Kingdom Rush

Kingdom Rush

Simple and fun. Kingdom Rush does tower defense just how I like it: You make little towers and things walk up and die. It actually has a learning curve for the different towers and how to use them in conjunction.

You can play it here

Infectonator 2

Infectonator 2

I was severely hooked on the first game and this one’s no different. Well except for the mobile support. I just love the combination of cute things and unbridled violence. So, turning all the little people in the Infectonator world turning into zombies has a special place in my cold black heart.

You can play it here.

If you want to compare your fat throbbing list of achievements to my limp, floppy list you can do that here.

The Binding of Isaac

“When Isaac’s mother starts hearing the voice of God demanding a sacrifice be made to prove her faith, Isaac escapes into the basement facing droves of deranged enemies, lost brothers and sisters, his fears, and eventually his mother. The Binding of Isaac is a randomly generated action RPG shooter with heavy Rogue-like elements.”

The Binding of Isaac is sick, demented, and at points just plain wrong. In other words it’s pretty fun. What more could you expect from Edmund McMillen, creator of such games as Spewer and more notably Super Meat Boy. TBoI features music by Danny Baranowsky (also recognizable from Super Meat Boy).

Need for Speed The Run Keeps Jack running, and running…

All these red and blue lights, black cars filled with mafia types and to top it off other racers sure make an underground cross country race for $25,000,000 interesting. Having a turbo charged beast of car makes for a pretty solid ace up your sleeve though. Life sure can be hard when you race, but even harder when your life is on the line.

[Review] Minecraft

You know, I still get asked “What exactly is Minecraft about?” With over 18 million registered users it’s hard to believe there are still people who don’t quite get it. I’ll do my best to explain.

Minecraft is exactly as the name implies. You “mine” materials which you use to craft items. When you start the game, you appear in a randomly generated world filled with dirt, trees, sand, stone, water, pigs, chickens, and cows. Your first goal is not really explained until you encounter your first night. Night time brings all kinds of monsters, zombies, skeleton archers, giant spiders, and more. As you may have guessed, these monsters attack you and without shelter or weapons you’re pretty much defenseless to their attacks.

Xbox Dashboard Update

So, the dashboard got updated and I’ve read a lot of “MY LIFE IS RUINED” crap since. The reality is most of the dashboard side loads faster, Netflix looks better and the whole dashboard now works with Kinect. There are plans to include Youtube, Dailymotion and iHeartRadio. Microsoft has mentioned plans to take over television based entertainment and they are heading in the right direction.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: Burnt the F*** Out

How is it that not too long ago I had more fun than I could think playing Modern Warfare 2 and now I just don’t care about Call of Duty. Maybe I am just getting burnt out on the whole action-movie video game thing. It’s like Micheal Bay made a shooter. Now it is also starting to feel like Guitar Hero with the constant releases of the same game with a slightly different title. On top of that the series feels less and less realistic each release. I’m not going to act like perks or killstreaks are realistic in the slightest, but I like to have some level of realism in a shooter that includes so many real-life weapons.

Modern Warfare 3: It Has A Campaign?

Modern Warfare 3 the finale in a series that made online multi-player shooters what they are today, But most miss out on the single player experience, I’ve spoken to a lot of people who have bought the game and only played the multi-player. However, I think that game should be able to stand on single player alone.

The ‘Hog is Back! | Sonic Generations

Some things are just hard to recapture. A timeless photo, a moment in time. A defining moment that will forever set a standard. Sega has been trying to do that for years since the original Genesis games with the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.

You can ask any Sonic the hedgehog fan what their favorite of the series is and you’ll get various results, mine just happens to be Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Others believe that Sonic the Hedgehog 3, or the combined game Sonic 3 and Knuckles is the definitive game for the series. There are even others who will stand firm on their belief that Sonic CD is the king of Sonic games.

In the future, the sun is an exploding robot hedgehog

Sega decided that for Sonic’s 20th anniversary, that they would release a game that would not only please the old fans, but the new ones as well. That game came to form in the shape of Sonic Generations. A game that could easily be seen as a bad idea with good intentions. Thankfully, Sega pulled this game off great!
