Have you been wanting to try Guild Wars 2, but haven’t wanted to invest without knowing much about the game? Well, now is your chance to give it a try! This weekend, April 19-21, Guild Wars 2 will be opening its doors to the curious. You’ll have to get a code from a website they have listed as a partner. Jump in! In my personal opinion, it is one of the best new MMOs out there. I’ve played just about everything out there, and have yet to find something that has the long-term playability that Guild Wars does. We here at DigiSama have our own guild on Tarnished Coast, so feel free to check it out. Don’t want to play alone? I was all set today as the Internet was to be full of buzz from some important Wii U news. As a Launch Day owner, I was excited to see something new come about for the Wii U. Amidst the talk of the PS4 being unveiled later on this month and murmurs of Next Xbox rumours, Nintendo needed a little rub. It seems though that this news was more of a punch to the gut of Nintendo. While the Wii U’s launch has not been horrible, it’s not reaching he goals that Nintendo set for it. They promised an impressive set of launch titles and Rayman Legends was considered to be one of the biggest draws of the system.

We No Longer Have Ventrillo

Sadly, Vent was overpowered by Skype. It was fun for some big events we had, but overall hardly anyone used it and opted for Skype instead. Maybe we can get it again in the future if there is ever a demand.

New Category: Otaku

You have probably noticed there has been a new category added to the nav bar up above. Otaku.

Otaku is a Japanese term used to refer to people with obsessive interests, particularly (but not limited to) anime and manga.

What this means is that we will be opening the site up to reviews of Anime and Manga along with news we find interesting that relates to said topics. Let us know how you feel about this addition in the comments below. Spoilers should be sufficiently marked as such.

Oh, and feel free to suggest stuff for us to read/watch!

We now have Ventrilo!

Due to the fact that we have people on Minecraft and Guild Wars 2, perhaps wish to chat with someone playing something else, and the fact that Skype only goes so far. We are now in the trial run for  a dedicated Ventrilo server.

Digisama Announcement – TL;DW

For some, a twenty minute video may be too long to sit through. Never fear, we got you impatient folks covered with fancy bullet points.

What we are working on (in no particular order):

  • Minecraft server coming back online within a week
  • Minecraft specific site
  • Two YouTube Channels – DigiSamaTV and DigiSamaTrailers
  • Blog style posts instead of stale reviews
  • Live Streams
  • Expanding to cover more Geek Culture (anime, comics, movies, music, etc.)
  • Page dedicated to the comic VG WTF!
  • Staff bios with Gamertags and social media info
  • Let’s Plays, Retro Nights, and various other video projects

Not in video, but just as important:

  • DigiSama Ventrillo server (possibly Mumble or TeamSpeak instead if there is interest)
  • More use of our Facebook page Facebook.com/Digisama
  • More community game nights and events

Winter is coming…

We aren’t going away anytime soon, but bigger and better things are coming. Over the next couple weeks we will start revamping our little site soon. Hopefully as we improve our site we’ll soon be able to support our little community. In the mean time the site will be going over a transformation in the next week. Don’t worry I’ll try to keep the site up as much as possible. Keep an eye out for more updates from the rest of the Digisama crew soon.

PS I’ll see what I can do about the minecraft server.
